The Desert Provence

Nikran chuckles, "If you believe I can find love then I can find it without the amulet," he says and puts his hand over it on her neck. "I hope you find the perfect man. By the way what is your idea of the perfect man?"

Orchid shrugged lightly. "Well if I had to think about it I would say that I would like a man who is kind to me and makes me feel loved. Someone who won't hit me around and is willing to take care of me like a good man should." She said shrugging once more.

Nikran chuckles, "Sounds like the perfect man huh? And what man would hit you around. Besides your dead father that is."

Orchid shrugged lightly. "I haven't met many then again I have met few people. Although I do not lie to myself and tell myself that there are not men like that out there." She said with a light nod. She snuggled into him as she enjoyed the feeling of his warmth.

Nikran lands softly in another town, a larger one but not too large, "Orchid... have you ever thought about your dream home?"

Orchid frowned lightly. "Not really. I supouse I didn't think I would ever be able to get away from my parents. So I never really thought about it. I read a lot of fairy tales though. They made me not want a castle and I kind of had a lot of daydreams about prince charming." She said with a small blush.

Nikran chuckles, "Well I can't arrange the prince charming but how about you... take a look around at the houses, mansions, castles, whatever you want around here. Meet me back here in about an hour. If you get in any trouble, call my name in your mind." he says, looking in her eyes as he shifts into his demon lord form. Then he turns and disappears.

Orchid was about to speak when he disapeared. How in the world did he do that? With a light sigh she turned to look at the properties. She needed to find someplace that she would like to live. After a while she stopped with large eyes at one of the houses. It was perfect. She would wait until Nikran was done with whatever he had gone to do.

A black hooded man walks up to Orchid, "Why hello beautiful..." he says, "How about handing over your purse and... something else," he says, grabbing for her.

Orchid blinked when the man aproached her. With out blinking she stepped closer to and grabbed him. (You can guess where.) She twisted and pulled. She then kicked him in the knee.

The man groans and then shouts, "You b___!" He then pulls out a long sharp knife and goes for her.

Orchid backed away from the man trying not to look frightened. Nikran help me! She shouted in her mind. She didn't want to die especially by the hand of this man.

Suddenly the man grabs for his throat and begins choking, dropping the knife. Finger impressions appear in his throat and then Nikran materializes behind him, in demon lord form. Except less human looking. Now his skin is red and his features are sharper and more dangerous looking. "You messed with the wrong woman," he growls and the man dies, not from lack of air but from terror.

Orchid shivered lightly as she noticed Nikran's harsher features. He actually looked frightening now. He hadn't really before but he was now. Her arms came up rather instinctively as if to protect her chest. It was as though she was affraid he would hit her.

Nikran turns and looks at her, a fierce protectiveness in his eyes. When he sees that she feels the need to protect herself, from him, he looks away, a flash of hurt in his eyes and the realization that he's a monster.

Orchid let out a deep sigh and rubbed her temples lightly. She couldn't believe she had done that. It was as though she thought he was like her parents and just out to hurt her. She knew that wasn't true. She lowered her arms and stepped closer to him. "Hey Nikran you'll never guess. I found the perfect house I think you'll like it." She gently took hold of his hand and gently began tugging him toward the house. A small smile on her face to show that she wasn't scared of him not really.

Nikran follows after her, his demonic features slowly fading until he's in his normal demon lord form. He was silent, amazed at her courage to be able to touch him while he was in that form, but still somewhat hurt and believing that he is a monster. Especially since he now held the man's soul and was going to take it to hell to be forever tormented.

Orchid stopped outside the house twirling lightly. "What do you think, Nikran?" She asked smiling at him. She moved closer to him and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "I think it is just wonderful but if you don't think so feel free to say so. Although I thought you might like it." She shrugged lightly.

Nikran slowly smiles, especially at her kiss. "If it makes you happy then I like it. How about we, namely you, take a look in side and make sure it has everything you want. If it does we'll go buy it and then I'll take you out to grab anything else you need," he says, smiling at her, like he was happy she was happy.

Orchid smiled at him. "All right my dig bad demon let's take a look inside. And we don't need to buy furniture. There is a whole room at my old house stocked with furniture and things. I can send for them." She said giving him a bright smile. She gently tugged on his hand and led him toward the house.

"No need to send for anything from you parents," Nikran growls, "If you do not wish for new furniture to fit the house I will go get whichever pieces of furniture you desire from that palace. But I did not necessarily mean furniture. I more meant food and other things like that." He follows her while giving this speech and looks around the house, judging it's safety.

"Ah well I have a wonderful cook and she is allways in need of work. She can bring the food from home with her and the other servants may bring the furniture so that I may tell them that they are free. It sounds rather simple to me." Orchid said with a small smile.

Nikran looks skeptical, "Fine. But if there is anything you can not arrange with the servants or the cook just inform me," he says, looking around the house and checking for security and escape routes. He had a bad feeling about something.

In a dark pit filled with bright, cold flames that burn the skin off him, feeling so good and hurting so bad Guron roars, his roar splitting the earth above and causing volcanos to erupt.

"We can't hold him for much longer. It's incredible that he's gained this much power in such a short period of time," A small, greenish, ugly creature says to the lord of that realm of hell.

(No need to reply to the second part yet.)

Orchid smiled at him. "You are the sweetest man...demon....demon man ever." She said gently throwing herself at him and giving him a hug. She looked up at him. "Is something wrong?" She asked. Concern was clear on her lovely face.

"Something doesn't feel right," Nikran says, looking around, unconsciously pulling her closer and into the protection of his arms, almost as if he was afraid some one was going to try and hurt her.

Guron suddenly grins and spreads his bloody grey wings, the feathers spreading apart to release a paralyzing chemical into the air, immediately paralyzing all the demon minions around him. He hisses, a terrible sound from a terrible creature, and uses his claws to climb his way out of hell and onto the top world.

"I don't know what it could be. I don't think it's in here but perhaps it is near by." Orchid said softly. She some how felt safer in his arms. She had no idea why he felt the need to hold her close but she wasn't going to complain.
