The Desert Provence

"How do you sleep when you're not relaxed? Am I making you uncomfortable? I don't mean to. I tend to not regard personal space and I'm not used to people." Orchid said moving away from him slightly.

Nikran takes a deep breath and tries to control his impulses. "It's not you, Orchid. Do not worry. I am... rather new to things like this and do not know what to do. I've never slept before..."

"Oh sorry. I don't know much about people so I can't help." Orchis said with an apologetic look. "I believe you just close your eyes and relax. You should drif off into sleep soon.

Nikran rolls over to face her, watching her intensely for a few minutes before slowing drifting off into a restless, nightmare filled sleep.

Orchid watched him drift off to sleep. She gently placed her hand on his arm wishing to comfort him. She didn't like to see people in pain. She knew how they felt.

Nikran begins to settle down as soon as she touches him and soon he's sleep rather peacefully. Especially for a demon lord.

Orchid smiled lightly before she gently laid her head on his shoulder. She curled up beside him and drifted off into sleep.

Nikran awoke in the morning, the sun bright and painful for his eyes and his waves his hand, closing the shutters just like that. He reaches up and holds the necklace in his palm for a minute, looking at it and then Orchid.

Orchid let out a small sound in her sleep and unconceously snuggled closer to him. She had never felt warmth while she slept. The only people around her had been cold and cruel except for Zoe who had been killed.

Nikran is stunned when she moves closer and almost moves away. However he sees her shiver and slowly, gently, wraps his arms around her in an effort to warm her.

Orchid smiled in her sleep as she felt his warmth seep into her. She couldn't remember ever being held. Her parents had never really loved her. The only times they had touched her had been to beat her. She had never really been held like she mattered. "Please don't go." She murmured.

Nikran closes his eyes at the precious words and pulls her closer, keeping one arm around her. "I won't leave," he whispers, removing his necklace, "You deserve this and need it more than I do," he breathes, fastening it around her neck.

Orchid awoke slightly as she felt something warm against her neck. She yawned lightly and opened her eyes. She noticed Nikran laying with his arms around her. It was anice feeling. She gave him a smile. "Hello there." She greeted.

"Good morning," Nikran says, watching her with his head tipped slightly to the side. "Do you feel up to continuing on today?"

"I supouse so." Orchid said with another yawn. She gave him a smile. "I go where you go. Besides were else would I go? Besides I don't know how long I can stay in this filthy inn." She said casting a look around.

Nikran chuckles and gets up, opening the windows and hissing when the sunlight burns his eyes. "Damn sunlight," he says, finally opening his eyes even though they still water. He extends his wings and motions for her to climb into his arms.

(I gotta go to sleep...)

Orchid gave him a smile before she climbed into his arms. She looked down and noticed the amulet around her neck. "Why did you give this to me?" She asked in surprise.

(Me too.)

Nikran takes off smoothly and silently, quickly gaining altitude. "Well, you need it and deserve it more than I do," he says, looking sad but trying to make it funny, "I mean really? Who's going to want to fall in love with me?"

"I might." Orchid said with a small blush. "You are a wonderful man even if you're a demon. You deserve love too." She said nodding lightly. She gently wrapped her arms around his neck. "Besides I don't find myself needing luck for love. It'll just happen."

Nikran chuckles, "Wonderful man perhaps. But what woman wishes to have a child who might command demons from hell?"

"It would make every day interesting. You'd never be bored." Orchid said with a small shrug. "There is someone perfect for everyone. I am sure some woman would be find with having special children. Besides me of course. Then again I don't really know anything about children."

Nikran chuckles, "Why the 'besides me of course'? You never plan on having children?" he asks, tipping his head at her.

"Well I said the person who would fall in love with you. I doubt you want that to be me. And I supouse I might have children I just wouldn't know how to raise them correctly. I would know how to love them unconditionaly but I don't know about raising them." Orchid said with a small blush.

Nikran chuckles, "Don't worry. I have no idea either. But I'm sure we'll both find the perfect... person." he says, hesitating for a moment, not believing he would find anyone.

"I think you should keep the amulet. You sound like you need love more than I do. You should be able to find happiness. I wish you luck. You deserved to be loved." Orchid said giving him a bright sweet smile.

Nikran chuckles, "If you believe I can find love then I can find it without the amulet," he says and puts his hand over it on her neck. "I hope you find the perfect man. By the way what is your idea of the perfect man?"
